Oil terminal leak stopped

EFFLUENT from a BP oil terminal has finally stopped leaking into the Firth of Forth, according to environmental watchdogs.

Work is ongoing to repair the leak from a pipeline linking the Hound Point terminal, off Queensferry, and a tank farm.

But the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) said bunds and booms had been set up to contain the leak, which is now slowed up to the extent that “no further water is entering the Forth”.
