Officer faced racial abuse

A DRUNKEN outburst after a night out on Valentine's Day cost a man dearly.

Gavin McKee, 24, called a policeman a racist name after he was arrested outside a nightclub in Livingston.

That was enough to land him with a 165 fine when he appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday.

McKee, of Lady Place, Livingston, pleaded guilty to making a racial remark intended to cause alarm and distress to PC Cameron Farooq.

The offence took place in a police car outside the Club Earth nightspot in Livingston on Valentine's Day this year, February 14.

Gerry Bann, defending, said his client was heavily intoxicated and remembered little.
