Officer charged over 'love rival murder'

One of South Africa's top policemen faces charges of plotting with other officers to murder a love rival and covering up the crime for a decade.

Lt-Gen Richard Mdluli allegedly threatened a man "to stay away from his girlfriend", killed him in 1999, then destroyed papers relating to the case.
