OAP hurt in railings fall

A MAN was taken to hospital after he fell and knocked his head on a metal railing fence in New Town.

The man, in his 70s, appeared to suffer a seizure and was injured as he fell to the ground on Mansfield Place around 4pm yesterday.

Paramedics treated the man, who was still fitting, and took him to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A passer-by tried to catch the man as he fell, before getting help from a nearby business.
