OAP in hospital after being knocked down by car

A PENSIONER was rushed to hospital with head and leg injuries after being knocked down by a car.

The man, thought to be about 70, was hit by a red Audi A3 at the junction of Northfield Broadway and Northfield Farm Avenue at about 9.45am this morning.

He was conscious when ambulance crews arrived and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Police have cordoned off Northfield Broadway and inquiries are ongoing.
