OAP home in name contest

PUPILS from a city school have been given the chance to name a new £8 million care home.

Liberton Primary School pupils have been invited to come up with a name for the facility, being created on the site of the former Kings Inch Special School.

Residents and staff from the nearby Balmwell House and Craigour nursing homes will also be given a vote on the name, with a decision due to be announced next month.

It will be the fourth new care home to be commissioned by the council since 2007. Residents and staff are due to move to the new building in the spring.
