OAP attacked by muggers

A PENSIONER was knocked to the ground in north Edinburgh as thieves made off with her handbag over the weekend.

The incident took place in Drylaw yesterday at around 6pm, with the thugs attacking the 75-year-old as she walked along Groathill Road North.

The victim was taken to hospital as a result of the attack.

Lothian and Borders Police said they were looking for witnesses.

One of the attackers is described as in his early 20s, around six foot tall and skinny. He was wearing dark clothing and a cream-coloured hat.
