Nursery's cap set to remain

A NURSERY is set to lose a bid to change the number of children allowed in its garden.

Playdays Kindergarten, on East Suffolk Road, wants to revoke a condition put on its 2002 planning consent, which said the number of children allowed in the garden should not exceed 16 at any one time.

The reason for the cap was to "safeguard the amenity of neighbouring residents and other occupiers".

The company has now applied for the cap to be withdrawn, but John Bury, the council's head of planning, said: "The revocation of the condition would potentially result in a reduction in the present levels of amenity enjoyed by neighbouring properties."
