Nursery worker in court

A 20-YEAR-OLD nursery worker has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with two counts of serious sexual assault against a child.

Paul Wilson, who worked at the Little Stars Nursery in Nechells, Birmingham, appeared before city magistrates yesterday.

Wilson, of Newbold Croft, Nechells, faces two charges of serious sexual assault against a child between early 2009 and last summer. He is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next Friday. No application for bail was made on his behalf.

Wilson, who was arrested early on Wednesday, spoke only to confirm his personal details and was not required to enter a plea.

Dressed in a dark hooded coat and blue jeans, he bowed his head during the majority of the four-minute hearing.

The nursery, in Nechells Park Road, has been temporarily closed.
