Nursery in pub car park gets approval

A NEW nursery is being built on a pub's car park after councillors backed plans for a new privately-owned facility in West Lothian.

Members of West Lothian Council's development management committee have granted permission for a 386 square metre nursery in South Street in Armadale at St Anthony's Social Club.

The facility is expected to provide employment opportunities for six full-time members of staff and three part-time workers.

The nursery is to be built on land in the car park at the back of the social club in front of St Anthony's Primary School.

The nursery will have capacity for 50 children and will be open Monday to Friday, closing at weekends.

The social club will be able to use the car parking facilities at the weekends and in the evenings.
