Nosey Pc is fined £4800

A NOSEY policeman has been fined £4800 for using the force computer to obtain personal data about various people.

Pc Adrian Merron, 46, was due to face trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on a total of 58 charges under the Data Protection Act 1998, but he admitted ten charges and the Crown accepted his not guilty plea to the others.

Six of the charges were for viewing records relating to crimes of public indecency in Edinburgh.
