North Sea oil union joins helicopter saftey fight

A UNION representing North Sea oil workers has linked up with its Norwegian colleagues following the ditching of a Super Puma helicopter last week.

RMT announced it was launching an industry-wide campaign on safety with its Norwegian counterparts.

General secretary Bob Crow said: “We are sick of excuses and broken promises, and we are demanding real action. It is disgraceful that wealthy oil companies and their contractors are prepared to rely on luck and pilot skill to save lives.”
