North Glasgow shop fire under control

Around 30 firefighters are battling a fire in a row of shops in Barmulloch.

Crews were called to the row of six businesses at around 3.30am today in Broomfield Road, Barmulloch, Glasgow.

The “well developed” fire started in a laundry and spread to a shop next door. No one was injured in the blaze, a spokeswoman for the service said.

Firefighters from Springburn, Cowcaddens, Calton and Bellshill stations have brought the flames under control and remain at the scene.

Police closed the road around the row of businesses and a diversion is in place.
