Noodle chain joins the table

THE first Scottish restaurant of a popular noodle chain is launching in the Capital in a former Costcutter store in South Bridge this January.

Tokyou Ltd, which has already opened two successful fast-food eateries in Liverpool and Sheffield, is sub-letting the 1156ft premises with the aim of attracting diners with its quickfire south-east Asian cuisine.

The company will rent the premise for an annual fee of 30,000.

Tokyou will join other nearby eateries Ciao Roma, Pizza Paradise, Aspen Bar and Grill and Biblos, when it opens in January 2011.

Its owner, Zhu Jianping, said: "The Edinburgh restaurant will be our third operation and complements our existing restaurants. We will be providing excellent service and a menu offering a variety of cuisines."
