No repeat of 'Rod Rage'

POLICE said there was no repeat of the behaviour that preceded the Rod Stewart gig at Edinburgh Castle on Wednesday which saw a woman threatened by angry fans.

Mercy Breheny, 36, yesterday told how she was chased for refusing to let fans smoke, drink and take shelter from torrential rain in her Johnston Terrace close. Stewart brought his two night stint to an end in better weather on Thursday.

A police spokeswoman said: "Having investigated at the time, this incident was followed up the following night. There was no repeat incident of concert goers causing trouble in the stairwell."
