'No profit' in QMU Libya link

QUEEN Margaret University chiefs say no profit was made from an education project to forge stronger links with Libya.

Professor Petra Wend, principal of the university, said the institution did not "benefit financially" nor was "any funding received" during exploratory talks with Libya's Ministry of Health about setting up an exchange programme for healthcare students.

In May and June last year, a consortium of four universities including QMU was invited to carry out an evaluation of nurse training and healthcare management in Libya through The Training Gateway.

Professor Wend said other than costs her university had not received any funding from Libya.
