No frauds in police force
LOTHIAN and Borders Police has found no evidence of benefit fraud among officers or staff following a review.
The force took part in the National Fraud Initiative, where organisations look for evidence of fraud or error in benefits, pension or payroll payments.
A total of 336 cases were examined, with 327 now completed without finding any discrepancies.
A report to the police board said: “Initial investigation indicates that there will be no evidence of fraud or error in any of these matches.”
