Nick Griffin attends Glasgow racism court case

BNP leader Nick Griffin turned up to court today for the trial of four men accused of making racist remarks at a demonstration.

It is alleged that Ross McCallum, 37, Gary Biggar, 32, Ryan McCue, 34, and Rory Skene, 31, behaved in a “threatening or abusive manner” on various occasions on June 16 at West George Street, Glasgow.

They are accused of “repeatedly uttering racially offensive and religiously offensive remarks”.

McCue, from Craigentinny, Edinburgh, and a fifth man Joseph Finnie, 53, from Shawlands, Glasgow also face a charge of repeatedly shouting offensive remarks at George Square on the same date.

McCallum from Pollok, McCue, Finnie and Skene from Berwick Upon Tweed, Northumbria appeared in the dock today at Glasgow Sheriff Court for their trial.

There was a warrant granted for the arrest of Biggar from Kilmarnock who failed to appear and the trial was adjourned until September.

Griffin – who recently lost his seat as MEP - was in court when the case called and left shortly afterwards.
