NHS service is well informed

A NEW resource launched by NHS 24 has attracted thousands of calls from the Lothians since it launched last month.

NHS Inform is similar to the NHS 24 helpline, but draws additional information from external resources.

Health bosses said alcohol and general wellbeing were popular topics to search for on the resource's website.

Lynne Huckerby, head of health information, said: "NHS Inform is a developing service and we are continuing to work in close partnership with our partners to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of people throughout the country."
