NHS chiefs in measles alert

Health bosses in the Lothians have issued a warning over the recent rise in the number of measles cases.

Dr Alison McCallum, director of public health and health policy at NHS Lothian, said: "Many of the cases have been in teenagers and young adults, and have been associated with recent travel abroad. As we approach the time of year when many children and students are travelling, it is important that parents ensure their children are protected against measles."
