Newspaper's final deadline

THE North Edinburgh News is calling for contributions for its last-ever edition.

The community newspaper is due to close next month as a result of council funding cuts, and editor Mary Burnside has called for people in North Edinburgh to come forward with their own thoughts and comments on what the publication has meant to them.

They can be emailed to [email protected] or sent to the paper's offices at 222 Crewe Road North, which also welcomes personal callers. Comments can also be posted on the paper's blog at http://northedinburgh news.wordpress.com. Submissions should be made by Friday.

Staff at the paper are due to be made redundant on March 31, and directors are in the process of selling its offices.
