News staff up for awards

THE Evening News scooped three shortlist places at this year's Scottish Press Awards.

Last year's winner, Victoria Raimes, was nominated in the Young Journalist of the Year category again, for her explosive series on all aspects of the sex industry in Edinburgh.

Health Reporter Adam Morris and other reporters have been shortlisted in the Journalist Team category for their work revealing the problems at the heart of the Sick Kids' New Pyjamas fundraising campaign.

And previous winner and last year's runner-up, Frank Boyle was nominated again in the Cartoonist of the Year category.

Three Scotsman Publications photographers whose work appears in the News are also nominated - Ian Rutherford, Phil Wilkinson and Robert Perry.

The awards ceremony will be held in Glasgow on April 21.
