Bomb disposal teams and dozens of police vans swooped on the Riverside area of Newbridge on Sunday morning following reports of a series of loud bangs.

Police cordoned off the only road into the cul-de-sac while sniffers dogs and bomb disposal robots searched the streets for the cause of the noise.
