New use for ex-off licence

ANOTHER former off-licence is set to become a cheque cashing centre.

The Cheque Centre Group has been granted permission to transform the former Victoria Wine on Gorgie Road, having previously moved into the former Haddows in Home Street.

Both stores were part of the First Quench chain, which collapsed last year with the loss of hundreds of stores, including around 40 in Edinburgh.

Several of the local stores have already been snapped up but only a handful continue to trade as off-licences.
