New rules at pharmacies

A NEW register for pharmacists should ensure those seeking prescriptions in the Lothians are offered more protection.

The list was launched yesterday and means pharmacy technicians have to sign up to an official body to be regularly tested and scrutinised.

The General Pharmaceutical Council's chief executive Duncan Rudkin said: "This register is good news for patients in Edinburgh. We all take prescription medicine at one time or another."
