New rail line will open on schedule

A NEW railway line that will almost double the number of trains between Glasgow and Edinburgh will open on schedule this weekend, despite works being hit by the weather.

The 300 million Airdrie-Bathgate Rail Link, due to open tomorrow, will eventually see the number of services running along Scotland's busiest commuter route increased to ten an hour.
