New picture of missing woman issued by police

POLICE searching for a woman who has been missing for more than a week have released a new picture of her.

Office worker Suzanne Pilley vanished last Tuesday, with her parents describing her uncharacteristic disappearance as their "worst nightmare".

Detectives said they were "gravely concerned" for the 38-year-old's safety and believe she may be the victim of a crime.

Ms Pilley, a bookkeeper, took the bus from her home in the Stenhouse area of Edinburgh on 4 May and was last seen on CCTV at 8:51am, coming out of Sainsbury's supermarket in St Andrew Square. She failed to turn up to her work, just 100 metres away in Thistle Street.

The new picture released yesterday was provided by her family, in the hope of jogging people's memories.

Officers were looking through about 300 hours of CCTV footage to try to find clues to her disappearance.

Earlier this week they broadcast CCTV footage of her last-known movements on a giant screen in St Andrew Square.
