Work began in June this year, and a new progress report to the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA) board confirms that the new A8000 dual carriageway project is on target to be completed as planned in late 2007.
The new road is being funded by FETA, with grant assistance from the Scottish Executive. The city council, as the local roads authority, is managing the scheme.

"It will make journeys across the Forth Road Bridge easier by removing the queues of traffic that back up from the A8000, and local communities will see a 90 per cent reduction in traffic."
