New housing for veterans

A NEW housing development for veterans with disabilities is set to be officially opened tomorrow.

Linburn Court in Carlops Road in Penicuik, Midlothian, features four bungalows to provide accommodation for ex-service people. Private David Birrell, 24, from The Royal Scots Borderers (1 SCOTS), who was injured in Afghanistan and lost his leg below the knee, is set to collect the keys for his house at the ceremony.

A plaque will also be unveiled at tomorrow's ceremony.
