New homes plan unveiled

A DEVELOPER is set to build five new homes at Scotland's most exclusive housing estate under plans submitted to council chiefs.

Newbay Properties Ltd has applied for permission to create the houses at the Archerfield Estate near Dirleton, East Lothian, which includes two new championship golf courses.

Plush mansions on the estate cost up to 2 million and have access to courses where members include football stars Alan Shearer and Ryan Giggs.

Hamilton & Kinneil Ltd has also applied to build three new homes at the estate.
