New flights to Shannon five days a week

A NEW service between Edinburgh and Shannon Airport will operate five days a week from March.

Tickets for the route, part of the Aer Lingus Regional network run by Aer Arann, go on sale from today.

The first flight will leave on March 27.

Paul Schutz, Aer Arann chief, said the service will boost links between Scotland and Ireland.

"Combined with the recently launched Glasgow route, the addition of our new Shannon-Edinburgh service demonstrates the continued success of our franchise agreement with Aer Lingus," he said.

"This new service further improves the links between Scotland and Ireland for both business and leisure passengers and working with Aer Lingus, we look forward to continuing to provide our customers with a quality service, ensuring excellent value and frequency."
