New firms not slowed down by recession
The service had supported 267 new start-up businesses in the area until the end of December last year, meaning it is well on target to support 280 new firms by the end of March.
Business Gateway manager, Alice Sinnet, said: "Whilst the poor weather in January adversely affected new inquiries to the service in the early New Year, traditionally a very busy time, we are confident that this was just a small blip in an otherwise busy year for Business Gateway.

West Lothian's executive councillor for development and transport, Martyn Day, added: "West Lothian's entrepreneurs have been able to spot opportunities and niche markets for their skills, and have found the support they need at the Business Gateway."
