New film fest chief set for his premiere

CHRIS Fujiwara, the new artistic director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, said he was looking forward to putting together a programme for the world’s oldest continuously running film festival.

Mr Fujiwara, a New York-born writer and critic, was appointed in September and said he would reveal the full line-up for this year’s event in May, a month before it starts.

He also said the festival would not be moving back to August, despite criticism over last year’s lacklustre event.
