New council homes hailed

HOUSING Minister Alex Neil visited Dunbar to mark the completion of 88 council houses, the first in the town for 36 years.

The Scottish Government gave 2.2 million funding for the project, part of a Scotland-wide drive for more than 3000 new council homes over three years.

Mr Neil said: "Council houses are springing up all over Scotland. That is good news for families across the country that want access to high quality, affordable homes."
