New centre for community

A NEW community centre, featuring a library, cafe and council offices, are set to be built in a Lothian town under new plans submitted to the council.

The proposals call for the demolition of the existing Countess Youth And Community Centre and Scout hall building in Countess Crescent, Dunbar.

The facility, which will also house community learning facilities, is to be built on the cleared site under the East Lothian Council project. The planning application was submitted earlier this week and a decision will be made at a future meeting.
