New car park for hospital

A NEW car park with more than 1000 spaces at the city's largest hospital will be complete by summer, health chiefs have said.

The facility at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary is needed to make way for the new Sick Kids hospital, which will be built on the current car park.

While the opening of the car park will allow building to begin on the paediatric facility, health chiefs first have to work out how it will be paid for after the Scottish Government scrapped the idea of using public funding.
