New bid to trace Betty

POLICE today launched a fresh appeal for information to help trace a missing mother-of-two last seen in Edinburgh nine weeks ago.

Elizabeth Brown, known to friends and family as Betty, was last seen on CCTV footage getting off a bus in Nicolson Street.

Since her disappearance she has not used her bank cards and her mobile phone has been switched off.

A police spokesman said: "We continue to appeal for information relating to the whereabouts of 55-year-old Elizabeth Brown, who has been missing since Saturday, 22 May. .

"Anyone with information that can assist us in locating Elizabeth is asked to contact the police immediately."

Ms Brown is described as around 5ft 7ins tall, with fair hair, and glasses.
