Netflix pokes fun at its users as it publishes year in review

The streaming service has published its year in review for 2017 revealing a number of quirks as well as which shows were binge watched.

The organisation analysed data from 1 November 2016 to the corresponding date this year.

Netflix tweeted to its 4.22 million followers: “To the 53 people who’ve watched A Christmas Prince every day for the past 18 days: Who hurt you?”

The 2017 Netflix original film follows a reporter who goes undercover to get a story on a playboy prince but ends up finding love and plenty of intrigue.

It prompted much discussion with a number of Netflix’s followers, with many responding to the question with criticism for no longer having their favourite show.

It also revealed that one UK viewer watched Dreamwork’s 2007 film Bee Move 357 times between the two dates, while another member was so enamoured by Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl that they watched it 365 days in a row.

The average user watched 60 movies on the service this year.

Mexico had the most avid viewers with the most members watching Netflix every single day.

As a whole an average of 140 million hours were watched per day, around one billion hours per week.
