Nelson Mandela 'recovering from a collapsed lung'

Nelson Mandela is understood to be recovering from a collapsed lung, despite claims from his office that he was in hospital for "routine tests".

The former South African president undergoes regular hospital check-ups, but his latest visit, which began on Wednesday, drew concern over the health of the 92-year-old anti-apartheid leader.

But sources claimed that despite having suffered from a collapsed lung, Mr Mandela could be released from hospital in Johannesburg today.
