Neighbour starts pan fire

A WOMAN started a fire outside a man's home after a dispute, a court has heard.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard Margaret Torrance, 50, of Dunsyre House South, 31 Calder Crescent set fire to paper placed inside a letter box and a cooking pot containing oil placed outside her neighbour's front door.

Fiscal depute John Kirk said: "The complainer was at home and had gone into the hallway and noticed burning paper protruding through the letterbox and the fire brigade were summoned."

Mr Kirk added that when police spoke to Torrance she admitted what she had done.
