The service started at 3pm at St Geroge’s Chapel in Windsor Castle following marches and music from members of the military including Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the Highlanders, 4th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Air Force.
The Foot Guards Band were seen marching outside St George's Chapel and Fell ponies, Balmoral Nevis and Notlaw Storm, were also photographed pulling the Duke of Edinburgh's driving carriage ahead of the funeral.
Here are some pictures showing the moments in the lead up to Prince Philip’s funeral.
