Dame Barbara Windsor's remarkable life in pictures as EastEnders and Carry On legend dies at 83
Dame Barbara Windsor, who died on Thursday night at the age of 83, shot to stardom in the Carry On films and was beloved for her portrayal of Peggy Mitchell on the BBC soap EastEnders.
Her career spanned stage and screen across seven decades, and the hugely-popular actress was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2016 for services to charity and entertainment.
