National Museum of Scotland voted UK’s best
The attraction polled ahead of the British Museum and the National Gallery in London in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Attractions revealed yesterday.
Three Edinburgh attractions were also voted among the top ten in the UK by visitors.

Hide AdThe Camera Obscura and World of Illusions on the Royal Mile came in second place in the Top Ten Landmarks category, behind Durham Cathedral, while Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Yacht Britannia came fifth and sixth.
Edinburgh also clinched two key positions in the Top Ten Parks category, with Princes Street Gardens in second and Holyrood Park in fourth. St James’ Park in London was top.
Dr Gordon Rintoul, director of National Museums Scotland, said: “The fact that this award is reflective of the views and experiences of our visitors, pays great credit to the hard work of our whole team and reinforces our standing as a world-class visitor attraction.”
Andrew Burns, leader of Edinburgh City Council, added: “People across the world continue to think of Edinburgh as a must-visit location.”
