Napier stops game course

A MASTERS degree aimed at creating a new generation of computer-game entrepreneurs has been ditched after just one year.

The Interactive Industries course at Edinburgh Napier University is being scrapped after its leader Mark Grindle quit his post.

The university launched the course last August. It was billed as unique because it was intended to train students to set up their own business rather than training them as employees.

The success of Grand Theft Auto, the brainchild of Scottish firm Rockstar North, has given Scotland a strong reputation in the gaming industry.
