Mystery of nude pair who braved floods to push car

THESE two cheeky motorists appeared to take the term flash flooding literally as they rescued their stricken vehicle from the water.

The daring duo were pictured by stunned passers-by after they stripped off entirely to avoid soaking their clothes as they attempted to push their Ford people carrier at around 3pm on Friday on Mayfield Road, Liberton.

The pair were captured in the act by insurer Stephen Loy, who was taking pictures of flood damage at the scene.

"I jumped out the car to take pictures of the water damage and as I was walking over I saw these two guys starkers pushing a car in the flood," he said.

"People from the pub and the local garage came out to watch them.

"The guy in the tracksuit helping must have known them as well, because you'd hardly go and help two naked men pushing a car would you?"

Braidburn Inn landlord Leonard Jack said: "It was pretty puzzling because they'd surely be soaking when they put the clothes back on."
