Muslims protest over Koran burning

MEMBERS of the Scottish Afghan Society gathered outside Edinburgh's US Consulate to protest against the decision not to stop an American church from burning the Koran on the anniversary of September 11.

Mohammed Asif, president of the society, rallied more than 50 protesters over a loudspeaker, while the others waved banners yesterday.

The pastor of the small church in Florida, Reverend Terry Jones, today said he was reconsidering his decision to call off the protest after yesterday appearing to agree to cancel the book-burning.
