Muslim cleric who wed girl, 12, jailed

An INDONESIAN Muslim cleric who sparked a national outcry by marrying a 12-year-old girl has been sentenced to four years' jail.

Pujiono Cahyo Widianto, 46, was found guilty of sexually abusing a minor at Semarang District Court. He claimed he did not plan to consummate the marriage until the girl reached puberty.
