Museum is a step nearer

A LONG-RUNNING campaign for a museum dedicated to Musselburgh's history is a step closer to seeing its goal achieved.

East Lothian Council's cabinet has now agreed to award an 80,000 contract to Edinburgh firm Hamilton Design to draw up the layout of the new venue at High Street premises adjacent to the Town Hall.

Members of the Musselburgh Museum Committee (MMC), which has been campaigning for almost 25 years, said they were "delighted" with the move.
