Detectives say they are following a positive line of inquiry but are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Inspector John Peaston who is leading the inquiry said: "At this time we are still trying to determine the full circumstances, which have tragically resulted in one man's death and another man being seriously injured.

"We believe that there may have been a number of potential witnesses from the Clubhouse pub and from the surrounding residential addresses who may be able to assist with our enquiries.

"Anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious or who has information that can aid officers with this investigation should contact police immediately."
