Murder probe after man hit by truck in North Lanarkshire

POLICE are treating the death of a man who was hit by a truck as a murder investigation.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to reports of the accident at 11pm last night.

Two people were taken by ambulance from the scene at Crindle Dyke Crescent.

A 23-year-old died in Wishaw General Hospital shortly afterwards, while the second man is still being treated.

Officers are still at the scene and diversions were put in place.

A Strathclyde Police spokesman said: “Police are still at the scene. The inquiry is at an early stage.”
